Unable to turn off e-mail spam filter

Hi,

Granted, my e-mail program is old (maybe Outlook 2003) but it is still working acceptably and frustrating to not be able to easily turn off e-mail spam filtering. I get very little spam at this point and Norton (360 for Windows (10) just recently purchased) appears to be slowing down e-mail receiving to an unbearable crawl. Even after logging into Norton as an administrator and trying to turn off e-mail protection, I still get a message that I need to be an administrator to perform the action. Any potential input would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

You cannot use Run as Administrator to access Norton Settings. You have to be logged into Windows using an admin account.

Thank you very much for your input. What you advised did work, and I am grateful to you. I did nevertheless find the process to be rather awkward, as in all previous instances that I have encountered where administrator privileges were needed I have automatically gotten a screen prompting for me to log in as an administrator. But that does not occur in this instance. So it was a totally new experience for me, and I admit I am still confused about why the process is so different in this particular instance.

And in the end, even after I turned off the e-mail spam filter the speed of analyzing e-mails was essentially unchanged. So something else must be in play and I ended up re-enabling the e-mail spam filter. But I certainly learned something new if I ever need to address that or certain other elements at a later date, and I once again sincerely thank you for the enlightenment. I really appreciate it.
