Looking for directions to your nearest off-switch

Hi,

As one of the new batch of customers you bought yourself for Christmas by acquiring Bullguard, I too have been shoved your bulkware down my throat, with the transition to a "Norton Go Standard" subscription that doesn't quite seem to actually exist. 

That said, I'm searching for the off-switch on your product. The 'Exit' option. A File > Close variation. By which I don't mean the manual one-by-one disabling of the thousands of different background-processes eating up more RAM than a video-editor does, but the actual Shut-It-All-Down option.

Guidance would be much appreciated

(P.S. - Whose idea was it to have the button to 'Post' this question say 'Save'... Just why)

Unfortunately, you cannot quit / close Norton by design.  The only option is to temporarily disable Auto-Protect (which disables AV scanning) and disabling the Smart Firewall.

To do either, or both, right click the Norton tray icon > Disable Auto-Protect / Smart Firewall > select a duration.

Gracias. Guess I paid for a subscription I never signed up for, to get software I never asked for and don't want to have on my computer.

If you disable Norton Auto-Protect you can probably kill the Norton processes in Windows Task Manger, but I suspect that isn't the graceful solution you were looking for.

That is indeed specifically unwanted, as stated in the question. The 'graceful solution' I am looking for, is what's more commonly known as a 'close button'.

What I wasn't in the market for, is software that invades my system in a more tumorous manner than the malware it's meant to guard me from.
