Norton 360 Premium and Norton Utilities Premium

I have Norton 360 Premium and Norton Utilities Premium.

Do i need both on my PC ?

Or does Norton 360 Premium have Norton Utilities Premium bundled in it ?

I would ideally like to cancel the Norton Utilities Premium subscription.

Re: Norton 360 Premium and Norton Utilities Premium

Norton Utilities Premium, NUP, is not included in the 360 product. For about a year, Norton gave NUP as a bonus for activating Automatic Renewal on the 360 subscription, but that offer has been discontinued.

Norton 360 is a security product, and NUP gives you a number of maintenance utilities that some user do find useful. For most users, it is not necessary as current Windows versions do a good job of its own maintenance.

If you no longer wish to pay for the NUP, just log into your Norton Account and hover your cursor over the user icon at the top right. Then click on Manage My Subscriptions and look for your NUP subscription. Be sure Automatic Renewal is disabled to the right side of the NUP listing. Then just let the current subscription expire.

I cannot get telephone support - I've been on hold for 50 minutes (the estimated wait was 15 min).  Horrible customer support.  After I ran NUP I got a report saying condition is "FAIR" & reactivate to repair, but when I click that link it just takes me to a huge menu page and does not tell me what to do.  Does anyone know?

I've been using Norton Utilities continuously since 1986 (NU v5) and now the NU Premium says it's disabled. My copy was not of any Norton 360 offer. I just want what I paid for to work. NU Ultimate means nothing to me but another revenue stream for Norton. Since they got bought out, they're more concerned about wall street than their users it seems.

Have you renewed your subscription to Norton Utilities Premium? It is not a pay once and use 'forever' app like the NU products before Premium.

I've been on autorenewal for close to ten years. Before that it was pay once, use forever.

But have you checked to see if your NU Premium subscription has been renewed? Log into your Norton Account and hover your cursor over the user icon at the top right and click on Manage My Subscriptions. Look for your NU Premium product to see if it is still active.

Re: Norton 360 Premium and Norton Utilities Premium

What exactly is the Symantec line on LOCKING OUT owners of various Norton Utilities?

Myself, like I'm sure tens of thousands of, have been a customer of Norton/Symantec for over half our lives. I started using Norton Desktop with Windows 3.0, and have used various incarnations of "Utilities" for over 35 years! I'm not talking about the "free" version, but paid versions that NEVER had expiration dates. Case in point... Utilities Premium (or whatever they're wanting to call it these days), even if it WERE part of the free promotion with 360, had an expiration date 2050.

Suddenly today mine stops working. (Albeit late to the party it seems.) I've seen the threads where people have been complaining about it for a year or more now. Why today mine decided not to work is beyond me. And OF COURSE they just got me 2 weeks ago for a 360 renewal. SHAME ON YOU Symantec! Very bad business, very bad indeed.

As far as getting it to work again (renew subscription) like everyone else here, it goes back to the download/install link, and even AFTER it says it's installed... and READY it doesn't work. It won't accept a license key. Just keeps going back to the (spawn of satan) subscription site wanting even MORE money.

This is totally unacceptable for software that we've bought and paid for. I understand end of life, but running on an older machine it doesn't need updating. In fact, it was working JUST FINE! Then you take it upon yourselves to turn it into crippleware.
Don't need a subscription, don't need updates... IT JUST NEEDS TO WORK!!!

The days of ANY Symantec/Norton product being on our machines are over.
