vpn stops internet access

Internet is shutdown as soon as i connect the vpn. if i turn off vpn the internet is there again even to post this I had to turn off the vpn. Most of the post i have found about this have been cut off from more post so does that mean we are being ignored? Does norton not care about its customers. If this is true I guess we need to find a different provider.

Thanks SRR

For your connection issue, check the VPN settings to see if the Kill Switch is disabled. From the new My Norton interface, click on the gear/settings icon and click on VPN. Then be sure Kill Switch is off and test.

You can also try turning off the Ad Tracker feature and test.

Re: vpn stops internet access

I am not sure whether I have the same issue, one of my laptops running windows 11.0 has a similar issue; when I activate VPN the internet icon automatically changes to no internet, however I am still able to access the internet. This occurs whether I am connected using wifi or ethernet cable. I also have a desktop running windows 10.0 and another laptop running windows 11.0 which do not have this issue. It looks like there may be a configuration issue, as I am still able to access the internet I just hope the connection is secure. Can anyone advise how to fix the configuration and whether the connection is secure.

Re: vpn stops internet access

I wanted to delete the VPN part of product - but not possible. It messes up my access to web pages. I have left negative feedback many times about various aspects of this product. Never get a response - I am dumping this product as soon as my subscription ends. I tried to delete my credit card information so Norton does charge me while I am not looking ... But that was not possible. So, if they do try and charge me, I will simply tell my credit card company to reject the charge. Sort of a response to Norton always rejecting(i.e., never responding) to my feedback.  Hosta La Vista, Norton! (he probably still has his sleeves rolled up - so cool, so viral!)

Your VPN feature cannot interfere with your network connection if you have turned of any auto connection settings for the VPN.

When you tried to remove your payment information did you have any VPN or ad blocker extensions active in your browser? Those can interfere with the operation of Norton web pages.
