Norton pop-ups

Hello

I'm getting mighty fed up with the constant nagging pop-ups from Norton.

I close them, I tick the "do not show again" and they still keep coming.

Right now, I won't be renewing any subscriptions and am actively looking for other solutions.

To cap it all, the ridiculous Captcha security thing with blurry pictures, ambiguous requests, I can do without it.

Poor value for money now after years of using Norton, time for a change.

I have disabled "show firewall block notification" and yet my user interface has a continuous displays of these firewall notifications even if I click the "Stop notifying me" button on the details page. The machine is nearly unusable because of these pop-ups from the firewall. I am going to try the global "Silent Mode" setting to see if that helps. Someone has dropped the ball on these firewall notifications as there is continual probing of my web server, all day. This is a Windows machine running the web server.

Update: Tried "Silent Mode" and there is a 1 day limit. Come on guys. These are the basics. To Norton: You are instilling insecurity by not being able to manage the basics here.

Do you have Automatic Program Control disabled? If so, you will receive notifications every time the firewall checks a connection request. Your turning off 'show firewall block notifications' would only stop notifications when the firewall blocks a connection.

Automatic Program Control Under the firewall, Advanced Program Control, is ON.

Even though I tried turning OFF Show Firewall Block Notifications, that had no effect on the pop-ups.

Silent Mode seems to have killed the Pop-ups but the max duration is 1 day.

What specific firewall notifications are you getting? A screenshot would be helpful.

The pop-ups are continuous.
