problems running norton since latest update

Hi. Since the latest update, Norton runs sluggish and runs the new tour every time. Also, I am used to the old classic easy to understand dashboard and now the so-called streamline is next to impossible to understand. I desperately need help in understanding this new update because right now I'm quickly loosing confidence in this app and am far from seeing the cost of the app equals the hard work in using the new features.

  • Please run Norton LiveUpdate and Restart (not Shut down) machine.  
  • Please confirm Windows Fast Startup is off. W10 [here] W11 [here]

Please switch to Norton 360 Classic view. 

From Norton 360 systray icon -> click Open Norton 360

Open My Norton for My Norton view 
Open Norton 360 for Classic view


Note:
Settings from systray icon opens My Norton Settings.
Settings from Classic view opens Norton 360 Settings. 

Switch between the My Norton window and Classic view

The latest version of your Norton product opens the My Norton window up on launch. The My Norton window acts as a dashboard where you can view and manage your device security features and other entitlements. However, you can configure Norton to launch the Classic view when you start your Norton product. For more information, read My Norton product looks different.

If your subscription includes Norton Secure VPN but you cannot access the feature, your Norton product is in the Classic view. Access to certain features is available only through the My Norton window. In such cases, you may have to switch between the My Norton window and the Classic view.

Switch to the Classic view is not available on Norton 360 for Gamers.

Switch between My Norton and Classic windows

  1. Start Norton.

    If you see the Norton classic window, click My Norton.

  2. In the My Norton window, click the settings icon.

  3. Under Launch View, do one of the following:

    • To view My Norton window during launch, select My Norton.

    • To view classic window during launch, select Classic.

Switch between My Norton and Classic windows from the Windows notification area

  • In the notification area on the taskbar, right-click the Norton icon, and do one of the following:

    • To view My Norton window during launch, select Open My Norton.

    • To view the Classic window during launch, select Open Norton 360.

Please run Norton LiveUpdate, again, until no updates + machine Restart (not Shut down).

R U in Windows Admin user account? 
Users need Windows Admin user account to change Norton settings. 

Standard user accounts; Norton settings may appear disabled (grayed out).
Norton settings can also be greyed out after Norton detects and repairs a threat on your computer which requires a restart.

What happens with Open Norton 360?

Hi,

If you are not an Admin on the Windows account, it forbids you from switching to/from Classic view

As for the slow Norton, try setting network trust to full, it might help.
