Reinstalled Windows - No Need to Restore File

Following a hardware problem I had to reinstall Windows 7 and lost all data on my hard drive.  I'm attempting to restore data from my online backup, but after downloading Norton Online Backup from my online accout, it creates a NEW computer - even though the computer has the same name.

How do I connect my restored computer to its existing Online Backup instance so I can restore my files?  I can find no useful information on this anywhere...

Hi,

the situation is a little bit tricky. What i am going to tell you can be long and unefficient but it should be working.

You can restore the files to the same computer from where the backup was created, or to any registered computer, so you can download them on this 'new computer' also without installing the client.

Then when you restored everything, you can set your backup again and start again.

So for that, is we need to take proper backup. Since restoration is long term procedure it cosume lot of time. Do you know any shortcut procedure.
