How to Remove Trial Online Back up

I agree with this previous post............I also cannot uninstall Norton online backup from my laptop.  I have a laptop with win 7and I tried all known methods to uninstall this unwanted program. I am very angry with third party junk installed on my computer, Microsoft will hear my complaint loud and clear. I want to know how to get rid of this program.

And so will Norton.  If I cannot get this junk program off my computer, I become a McAfee customer after 10 years of norton.

I have Norton 360 Premier installed.  everytime, I boot up the computer, I get this online back up trial option.  I have to close it every time.  I am tired of it.  When I do trial to activate the trial it never goes anywhere.  Won't open the trial.

the link is:

I want to remove the entire trial fom my computer.

Please Help!!

Re: How to Remove Trial Online Back up

Hi Zorro

Based on the screenshots I have more details from engineering. The program that's popping up is a older activation reminder. Instead of looking for Norton Online Backup can you see if you find a Add/Remove entry titled "Activate Norton Online Backup"?

If yes, remove it and let me know the end result.

If no we have an alternative course of action but will hold on posting till I hear back from you.

Zorro

Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Based on what you've described that's the activation reminder which comes on new machines. By default, the Norton Online Backup window appears in 10 days. If the trial activation is dismissed, it appears again after three days. These values may vary depending on the computer manufacturer but after that second time there is an option to dismiss it permanently.

Hi Zorro

I've spoken with the development team about your message. They're asking for the same thing - a screenshot showing specifically what you see. From there we can advise and help accordingly.

Hi Zorro

I've shared the info with them and am awaiting a response. In the short term can you tell me what specific entries you see, within Add/Remove Programs, for Norton?

Re: How to Remove Trial Online Back up

I was finally able to locate and DELETE the Online Trial Back Up program from my edition of Norton 360.  May I suggest that Norton not include this option INTO the program Install!  Maybe sent a separate email offer later IF a customer wants to use Norton's online back up program in place of Carbonite or some other program.  sell the back up as a good product not a 'piece xx xxx added on that interrupts the Norton Antivirus Program.

I appreciate the help of Noprton in staying with me to get this problem resolved.  However, it would have been BETTER to NT have CREATED the Problem in the 1st place!!

Thanks again to Wesley Welty for help in getting RID of this NUISANCE!!
