NOBU finished with errors

Hi all,

this is not a question but rather enhancement request:

My NOBU is working well probably (I did not test the restore yet...) but thanks to the extended set of files to backup it will always finishes with several fiels not backed up. Everything I know is "15 files were not backed up", "8 files were not backed up" etc.

I have no possibility to obtain information about filenames which failed to backup. I could compare the list of files on my disc with ones in the storage but that's not a solution.

Could you please tell how to obtain the list of failed files some easier way?

TIA

Pavel

Hello P_C,

The file path to answer your question for you is, C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Norton Online Backup\work. You then will want to look at the .slg file that is >1kb. Open the file with notepad.

Re: NOBU finished with errors

It's also important to take note that 9 times out of 10 the files it can't access are system files. With the file selection rules being so broad it can inadvertantly grab files always in use. If the results of the logs don't make full sense please feel free to post the content. We'd only need to see the portion referencing the files in use. From there we can determine what the best course of action would be to exclude them.

Great!  This is exactly what I need.

Thanks

And 11 of 11 files were system files...

Thanks again
