Distinguishing Online Backup from 'included' backup

I imagine this comes up a lot. Something should be done to distinguish between the 'included' Backup in Norton products like 360 and the 'Online' Backup (stand-alone).

I tried to activate the 'included' backup on-line (following the Help instructions) and wasted my time and a Norton service reps' time doing it because the 'included' Backup is activated on the desktop, not on the web browser -- grrrr.

Re: Distinguishing Online Backup from 'included' backup

Hello Protectinator,

We sell Norton Online Backup as a stand alone product for the customers that prefer to keep their products separate, or only need the backup software. The "included" backup that you refer to is for Norton360 which comes with 2GB included online backup but does not have a web browser access.  With Norton360 the online backup is included for the customers that want all of their software in one package.  In this way we are making our software available to a wider variety of customers.

Correction to one item. Norton 360 does provide web access but only for single file downloads. Another key difference is Norton 360 provides online backup as well as local backup if you prefer to use your own media. Norton Online Backup is a cloud backup service and does not come with any other security products. You can purchase Norton One though and get the best of both worlds.
