10G network speed severely affected

The new Norton360 version with the new GUI (2024 refresh) that came earlier this year ultimately made me uninstall Norton360 once and for all.

The new product has totally ruined my 10Gigabit LAN speed. I clean-installed my PC with both windows 10 & 11, thinking windows upgrades might have something to do with it. But no.

LAN network real speed is 9.86Gbps without Norton360 installed. When I install Norton360 speed drops down to 1.5Gbps… 1.5Gbps!!!

I disabled every feature of the Norton360 product i could find via the new GUI. Unfortunately nothing worked. Then I read on some posts that the IPS Prevention feature is to blame. Even with that feature disabled (only one central radio button as I remember) it didn’t fix the speed issue.

What could I do… I uninstalled it. Everything went back to normal. Blazing 10G speeds.

Goodbye for now :unamused:

I have the same problem with Norton 360 Advanced.

PC with a 10 Gbit/sec network card connected directly with a CAT7 cable to the 10 Gbit/sec socket on the router

With Norton 360 advanced installed I can reach max 2-2.5 Gbit/sec in download. The upload is good at 7.5-7.9 Gbit/sec.

With Norton 360 advanced installed, I can achieve max. 4-5.5 Gbit/sec in download. The upload is good at 7.5-7.9 Gbit/sec.

The connection between the router and www is very good with 7.9 Gbit/sec in download and 8.5 Gbit/sec in upload. So it can’t be due to the fibre optic line.
