Hi
Just wanted to report that so far so good with the new version of Antivirus that was downloaded to me last night. The only thing is that it never told me to reboot, so I didn't know I had the new version until I happened to look into the recycle bin. It was late last night when I looked, so I didn't reboot until this morning. Overnight I had an idle quick scan with the version .10 that I had before. I had no problems with version .10 either except it also didn't tell me to reboot. With that version, I had to reboot twice for it to work right, after the 2nd reboot all was ok with .10. This morning I only needed the 1 reboot to get the .11 up and running. So far I have had another idle quick scan and the time it took was like 10 seconds faster with it doing more files too. So far all seems to be working as it should.
I am running XP Pro, sp3, IE 7. I will see early Friday morning if my idle full system scan will run on schedule. Hopefully it will and will come up clean.
Only thing I am disappointed about is that the email scanning will only work if you use the default standard setting for email. Unfortunately, Verizon requires you to use a different port as do many other ISP's, so I don't get to see my emails getting scanned when I use Outlook Express like I used to before we had no choice but to change that port.. I know they still get scanned at some point, but I would feel more comfortable if Norton's would have set it up so that it would see port 587 as becoming the new standard since not everyone will be moving on to Win 7 so quickly.
