Well, I didn’t set it up that way, thats for sure. I cose define backup and chose my program files and my documents only, and I got that message about 18 hours…Just how is this done? Was I wrong on how I had set it up?
Is there a reason why you're backing up program files? Typically you can't restore a program by restoring the files. Try just your documents folder and see how long that will take. Then set up a different backup for items in program files you wish to backup.
Ghost seems to treat full backups (like a one time backup of a complete drive) different from file/folder backups.
An one time backup of my system drive took 15 minutes including verification and medium compression.
Using file/folders backup of part of the same drive gave an indication of over 3 hours, so I cancelled it.
I chose a one time backup of only my Program Files and My Documents. I got a message as it was processing that it would take 18 hours…I don’t get it…I did my entire C drive which included program files and my document a month or so ago and it only took about a half hour…where did I go wrong…new to this program of Ghost 14.0 version…manual no help. Plus, now I am getting daily reminders if I want to continue to backup missing files and folders. Why?
On the surface it sounds like you have an application or set of applications that are making numerous updates to files under Program Files. What kind of disk activity do you encounter? The reminders tell me that something has changed enough to trigger a reminder.
