Hi there. Please, wonder if anyone can help? I would like to install my boxed version of N360v2 (which I upgraded to v3 via download) onto a new (secondhand) laptop I have just acquired for my daughters university work (which she would often be using away from home). I have already been using it on my desktop at home and I was confused as to whether or not it would still be possible? Or does the user licence strictly apply to "3 PCs per household", as much of the time we would still be using it at the same address as my desktop, anyway. Currently there is Virgin media guard as the protection on the laptop and I would like to use N360 instead, but don't want to go uninstalling the virgin unless I know we can still use the Norton.(I did read online somewhere that if your subscription had less than 6 months remaining, this could cause problems). My subscription is about 110 days remaining.
Please can anyone advise, as I dont fully understand "3 PCs per household", how is it defined? As we are wanting to use a laptop.
I appreciate your time in reading this, thank you.
There isn't a problem installing it on your Daughter's Laptop as far as licensing is concerned. I would recommend though that you install version 3 directly by downloading it from here - choosing the correct edition for you..
Norton 360 Standard Edition
http://www.norton.com/n360s_3
Norton 360 Premier Edition
http://www.norton.com/n360p_3
Save the file to your desktop and then, once it has finished downloading, double-click on it to start the install.
You might want to remove Virgin Media Guard before doing this.
Your V2 Key will be OK to activate it and you should get that from the boxed version you already have.
The issue you have heard with regard to 6 months is erroneous. Both PCs will have the same number of days remaining.

Hi mdturner and thanks for your speedy reply, thats great news and thanks for the advice on downloading v3 and installing that as opposed to using my boxed v2 and updating it. I will remove all elements of PC guard first. Also please can you clear up for me-the laptop concerned has MBAM and SAS installed which are the free run on demand versions, would these cause any problems with the install?
Also thank you for clearing up that issue about the six months. I will post back here and let you know if it all goes well as a simple install.
Many thanks once again.

Using run-on-demand scanners won’t conflict with Norton program.
Hi Yogesh. Nice one. I now understand that I can safely ignore my installations of said programs when I install N360v3.
Thanks for the advice.
Hi fuzzylogic
I am happy to have helped you to understand the options you have which, sometimes, are difficult to understand unless you work with them all of the time.
Yogesh has kindly, and very correctly, answered your question regarding other AV programmes on your system.
Thank you for posting back to us and do let us know how things go.
Hi mdturner.
Just posting back to let you know everything went as smooth as a whistle. I followed your advice and I uninstalled the Virgin security and Norton 360v3 was a breeze to install on my daughters laptop and has been working well. Thanks again for your previous help.
