3038, 104 norton knowledge base info does not look like my control panel in windows 8

The subject line pretty much says it.    When I try to run a scan, I get the 3038, 104 error.  The knowledge base article on changing the admin status and etc is quite detailed, but my control panel does not look like what is described in the article.

 

I am using the windows 7 desktop that is contained in the windows 8 64bit system.

 

If anyone can point me to a version of what to do that I can use, it would be appreciated.

 

However, I do not understand why this problem has just now developed when I have been using this same program with no problem up until now.......a few days ago.

 

I do have SuperAntispyware onboard, but it is not set for real time protection.  I only use it as a standalone scanner from time to time.
