I have limited IT knowledge. I have had Norton 360 on my PC for around 4 months. On booting my PC none of the Norton 360 software appears to load. The icon on my desktop does nothing. I have gone onto the Support pages on Norton website and when this eventually gets to the "checking yoour system" part it just stops responding. I have even tried to un-install the software and this does not erspond either. It seems to be in a coma.
Can we just run some checks on your PC - obviously Norton is not running so just ignore the autoprotect part.
Please run a SysProt log for us so we can check your system for rootkit activity. You will need to disable Norton auto-protect while you run the scan, as well as any other antimalware program you may have installed on your PC.
Once it is downloaded to your desktop, right click on the SysProt icon, go to properties, and click unblock and apply.
Choose log, check all the boxes except show hidden objects only and then scan.
You will be able to post the log here using the "add attachments" link just below the orange post button.
If you want to try uninstall/reinstall, here are the necessary steps. Run the removal tool, you can download it from this LINK. Restart the computer and run it 2-3 times, restart the computer each time after you run it. Then download a new copy of Norton 360 3.0 from any of the following links according to the product you have brought(click on the link to to start the download):
Did you tell Malwarebytes to remove what it found? Your log shows no action taken. I would ask you to update MBAM again, run another full scan to see if it actually removes the Vundo.
