360 backup

Is the backup they offer would presumably be in the cloud right? And I can disable that if I choose to?

I noticed my backup on my external drive has 237gb of backup but my hard drive in the pc that I am backing up only has 121gb used. I am assuming I have something set wrong but don't know what.

I have the settings set to backup my documents and have several folders picked to backup.

Thanx in advance

Welcome,

There may be nothing wrong with anything. A bit more information about what you're doing and how you're doing it would help. Operating system? Which version of what Norton product are you running? How long have you been backing up with this backup configuration? Is there a specific reason for using a file & folder backup versus a drive backup?

Thanks

My os is windows7 64 bit, have Norton 360 v6, have been using Norton backup for a year and have been using the present settings mainly because I don't understand how the backup works or how to set it up.

Hi

Did you reinstalled your Norton360 anytime?

No, should I?

Better delete all the backupsets in your external drive, create a new backup set and then run a backup with Norton 360. This can be a problem with syncing the catalogs for backup sets, hence Norton 360 runs backup for the files which are already backed up.

Thanks,

You can backup locally on an external drive or online, but it is only a file and folder backup, not programs or a system image.

I have it disabled and use another backup program that does what I need.

Open 360 > Settings > on the right uncheck Backup.
