Seems like you may be running an older version of N360, can you check your version number please in the top right corner of the main interface click 'About Norton 360'.

If you are running V1 let us know so we can direct you on how upgrade to V2 for free.

looks like V1.3.2.4

Some time in the last week or so 360 stopped doing the these 3 checks. They are set to go weekly on Sunday night at 11PM but they haven't been. Even when I click on Fix Now I get the screen below. Any idea what I can do to fix it?

OK. First go here and download the trial for N360 V2. Next, run the Norton Removal Tool to remove your current version of N360.

Next, run the trial download, and enter your Product Key when prompted (the same one you are using with your current version).

Now you should have the latest version of N360, with the remaining subscription period you have left from the old version, and hopefully the issue you were having will be resolved.

Let us know how you get on. Thanks

You don't have to run the Norton Removal Tool, just installing V2 should automatically uninstall V1. If you have serious troubles, then as a last resort I would run the Norton Removal Tool as Johna suggests.

Ok, I've got 360 v2 installing, one more question though, am I going to have to reset up my backup and/or rebackup my entire pc again?

Now it isn’t giving me the option to backup to my external hard drive. :frowning:

You should not have to reset anything, as long as when V1.0 uninstalled you said keep your backup settings.

As for why you don't see your external drive, can you be more specific? Is it USB, network mapped drive? Are you running Deamon tools virtual CD software?

Well I didnt' see it ask me to keep any settings but it looks like it has all my "indexing" saved so it knows what to back up.

Its a USB WD MyBook hard drive. No idea what the Deamon tools virtual CD software is so I'm going to guess I'm not running it.

How big is the USB drive? Can you see the drive in Windows explorer? Can you see other drives like local and any network mapped drives?

Its a 500GB drive iwth 287GB left. Yes I can se eit in Windows Explorer. Yes I see my 80Gb C drive, and my two other Internal 80GB Hard drives.

You may want to take a look at the following post, as it would appear you have the same problem:

good lord! I don't hav etime to do that! Guess it will have to wait. Hope I don't need a back up anytime soon!

Ok, how about a simpler solution, how about pointing to another drive for backup, save your settings, then try pointing back to your external drive if it exists.

I guess I should have been more clear the only 2 things 360 sees is the Online Storage and the DVD-R drive. So 360 can't/won't see any of my hard drives.

Hi JohnB. There are a couple of steps you need to carry out at this point to try and resolve this:

1. Go here and install Gear Drivers.

2. Uninstall your N360V2, this time please use the Norton Removal Tool.

3. Reinstall N360V2.

4. Run Live Update, SEVERAL TIMES until no updates are left to install. Restart when prompted.

Now try your backup again.

Let us know how this goes, thanks.

Yeah, that is what I'm not going to have time for for quite awhile.

Hi

Basically it is just a reinstall, shouldn't take all that long. I have heard of some corruptions occurring following an unsuccessful uninstall of the original version, in your case version 1, normally when the automatic uninstall is used as with your case, rather than the complete uninstall with Norton Removal Tool. Anyway, when you get the chance try the above and I think it should work for you.

John

No dice. I’ve tried those steps 4 times now and still doesn’t work.

Hmm, I would like to see exactly what you are seeing.

I have sent you additional information via the community Private Messenger system, please look for the in the upper right hand corner of any community page.
