Hi brencan1
I hear ya. Though Norton Add-On pack is fully conpatible with Vista, it doesn't support Windows Mail. It does support with Outlook and Outlook Express. I will look into Symantec's plans for including Windows Mail in future releases.
I am interested in in the script errors you are getting with Windows Mail. What script errors are you getting?
RickY
I'm having a similar problem. I have Vista and Windows Mail. Currently I have the Norton's 360 Version 2. It is not catching phishing/spam emails and is putting safe emails in my junk folder. I chatted with a tech today and was told that Nortons is not compatible with Windows Mail and told me I should switch to Outlook or Outlook Express. No Norton tech has told me this and I have this product since 7/07. The tech told me that they're working on getting Nortons to be compatible with Windows Mail but didn't know when this was going to happen. I'm upset because I paid for Nortons protection since 7/07 but I'm not getting fully protected like I thought I was. No other Norton tech told me this until today!!!!! I don't know what I should do. Any suggestions.
Thanks.
This is crazy, can one switch to outlook express and not use windows mail?
I'm not contradicting Ricky on Windows Mail and Norton AntiSpam but here is my experience in VISTA Ultimate SP1 (and SP0):
- NAS does flag spam and it puts into the Windows Mail Junk email folder which is fine by me.
- If you select a junk email and right mouse click on it the Context Menu gives you a whole series of actions including This is not Junk and various move and flag as Safe etc.
- On the Inbox if you RMC on a message that you want to treat as Junk email and select Move to Folder / Junk email it will send it there and add the Norton AntiSpam label to the Subject of the message.
And more
It does not add the Norton AntiSpam button to the tool bar but even in XP that only put it on the Outlook Express toolbar of the user who first logs on -- a nuisance for Fast User Switching since that does not transfer the icon to the next user unless you log off the first which defeats the purpose of Fast User Switching.
So far as I am concerned it is not correct to say that NAS does not support VISTA's Windows Mail since so far as I can see it works for me -- if there's something I've missed I'll be glad to know but don't mess with my NAS <g>
I'll be interested in comments and will try to help if I can.
I will check the windows mail junk folder. I had norton support work on the issue and they finally concluded that the anti spam will not sinc with windows mail. thanks for your reply
It will be interesting to hear what you find out.
