360 V2 - Backup does not recognize PC Destinations

If that doesn't work, I would uninstall again using the Norton Removal Tool . Then reinstall and run Live Update several times until all protection updates are up to date. Then try again.

Recently upgraded to 360 V2 from V1 after upgrading previously to V2 when first released and then having to go back to V1 because of above issue.  Most recent upgraded back to V2 because my V1 subscription expired and needed to be renewed.  Previous calls to Norton Support after first V2 installation resulted in many reinstalls, reboots, remote control by Norton Support of my PC, all without resolution.  Norton Support thern advised unstall V2 and go back to V1 - hope Norton has problem resolved now with time or others have had similar problems and have had resolved.

 

Backup recognized and worked to my local hard drives in V1, but now again does not recognize local hard drives in V2 even after "refreshing" in Backup window.  Only recognizes Online destination.

 

Running Vista with all Microsoft upgrades on a Dell 4600 P4 with 3Gig of RAM.  Please advise thoughts on resolution or other info required.

Am away from the PC for a few days.  Please know I had previously installed the driver for GEAR and that did not work.  But, I did not uninstall 360 V2 and update as suggested after the GEAR download.  I will download GEAR again, try backup destination check and if that does not work, will uninstall 360 V2 and reinstall.

 

Hope to report back within a few days.

No luck. 

Order of procedures just completed:  uninstalled 360 V2; uninstalled Gear drivers; Ran Norton Removal Tool; Ran Windows Installer Clean Up Utility to remove all Symantec software; reinstalled Gear drivers; Reinstalled 360 V2.  Checked and only destination in Backup is the Online Drive.  Cannot see any of my local Hard Drives.

After you reinstalled N360, did you run live update several times until no more updates are available, then restart? Thanks

if you are all liveupdated and still having no luck i'm going to suggest we get a tech support agent to get some logs off of your machine.  once you get back w/ the response for whether you're all live updated i'll shoot you a private message w/ my email so that i can put you in contact with someone who can get logs.  Once we have those we can get someone on the backup team to check them out and see if it indicates what is going wrong.

Installed 360 V2 and Live Updated until all updated.  Current version running is 2.3.1.4.  Still no "Destinations" to backup to except Online.

I have a similar problem.  I have upgraded 360 V-1 to V-2 on 10 identical Dell Windows XP pro PCs.  On one PC, Backup will only recognize the CD/DVD drive and online storage.  All the rest are OK.  I have been online with tech support several times.  They have uninstalled and reinstalled V-2 several times and I have sent them copies of logs that they requested.  Live Update has been run regularly.  Nothing has worked.  I have set backup to manual and we are ignoring the reminders to backup.

 

Any assistance would be appreciated.

check your private messages (look for the mail icon in the upper right hand area of the page.)  I sent you my email there so if you contact me via email i can forward it along to tech support so that someone can contact you and obtain the logs and information from your computer that the backup team will need to start troubleshooting this issue.

This sounds like an issue that we fixed via an update shortly after shipping v2.0, but it may be different.  Have you run Liveupdate?  If so, could you please go to the Help->About dialog and let me know what version of N360 you have and we can start from there.
