360 v4 causes MS Outlook to unexpectedly shut down

I upgraded to 360 V4 this morning and upon completion launched MS Outlook. Outlook was slow to load and as it was downloading mail from my email server it shutdown unexpectedly. This happened more than once. I opened up a case with Norton Support and all that they did was disable Smart Firewall and Auto-protect. Outlook ran fine while they were turned off. Support turned them on again and everything was OK, until an hour or so later when Outlook shutdown unexpectedly again. I disabled the Norton Antispam Outlook Plugin add-in that was added by V4 and am watching if Outlook shuts down again. Any ideas? I am running XP Pro, 360 V4 standard.

Hi Sdowns,

Welcome to Norton Community!

Go to the Program Rules in Smart Firewall settings, for Microsoft Outlook, select Allow for the Internet Access. If the problem persists, disable the email scanning and check. Let us know the results.

Lavasoft "Ad-aware email scanner for Outlook" was conflicting with 360 V4. Removed all Ad-aware software from the PC and things are back to normal.
