You can disable Defender by going to services.msc and clicking disable then it won’t run and you won’t get defender updates. You can run the Malware Removal Tool anytime by clicking run- mrt. Neat little scanner and it runs automatically each month and is updated each month too. I think Defender does nothing IMO.
