360v5 NCP VPN Software

I am having slow startup and system freezing issues when Norton 360v5 and NCP secure client (http://www.ncp-e.com/en/products/ipsec-client.html) are running. I have no issues when using setting the NCP services to manual, I also have no issues with 360v4 and NCP. Excluding the NCP files/folders does not resolve the isses. A few months ago I tried Norton Internet Security and had the same issues.

 

Please let me know what to do to resolve this issue so I can move to 360v5.

I don't have any issues when using Cisco VPN, but it does not have the features I need.

 

The issue doesn't appear to be locale based.

  • Everything is fine when using 360v4.
  • Norton Internet security causes the same issue.
  • The issue does not happen with 360 uninstalled.

Rather than excluding the files from Sonar and Autoprotect, have you added the client's ,exe files to the program rules?  You should be able to go to settings>smart firewall>program rules>configure>add, then navigate to each of the files to set as allow.
