My computer appears to be under some type of serious probing. There are currently 694 blocked connection attempts and one vulnerablity attacks that were blocked in the past 4 days since I installed this software. The connection attempts are on a range of ports from a range of ip addresses. I have my Mac hard drive encrypted, full system scan showed no viruses. What else can I do? What is going on? This topic is not discussed enough. There are botnets out there which are constantly probing known always-on IP addresses. Don't feel that you are being targeted especially - this is pretty normal! This is why it is so important to have some kind of firewall running, either software (like you have) or hardware (a router with firewall) or preferably both!
It is true that Macs are not targeted as much as Windows, but with Macs selling more these days it is important to keep protected - the attacks will come.
