8.5.3 was supposed to fix the speed issue but it did not... Any suggestions?
When Vulnerability Protection is toggled to ON in Norton on my Mac Pro running Catalina 10.15.7 my 1GIG internet speed turns to a very slow speed (under 100 MBPS) I am a single user in my home running on 1GIG. This should not be happening. The latest version 8.5.3. did not correct the issue. Please help?
Instructions on how to fix the Mac speed issue. Come back and give feedback. Did it work for you? I'm on Mac #2 and so far this has fixed the issue.
1. Check your Computer to see if all system updates are current.
2. Use this link for detailed Uninstall instructions. You will have to reboot a few times in the process & use root to delete the old Norton files on your mac but it will step you through it. https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v129905674
3. Once you are rebooted sign into Norton & use the download Norton for Mac button not your add a device dashboard.
4. Run a new live update in Norton
5. Run a speed test. Try these: https://fast.com,(link is external) https://speedsmart.net/(link is external) or you can google search "internet speed test" & Google has an accurate speed tester. (www.speedtest.net is very inaccurate)
I'm running 8.6.3 on Catalina 10.15.7 and I still have the slow down problem. I have all updates installed. I flip off the vp switch and the speed jumps right back up.
