I have rebooted my computer several times and still receive the 8506, 421 errors. I'm especially concerned because my computer is unprotected while Norton 360 is inoperable.
I've had similar errors before and they seem to go away after a few hours, but this one hasn't. I've read the forums and various posts suggest various solutions to the 8506, 421 errors. Can someone please direct me to the best, most recent and/or definitive answer to this problem? Thanks!

If you have already browsed the forum, you will know we need a little more information to try to nail down your problem.
What operating system and service pack are you running?
What version of 360 are you using? Support - About
Have you run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
Try clicking on Support - Get Support to run Autofix to check your installation and fix what it finds.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium and Norton 360 2013 version. The autofix shows no solution and refers me to support which suggests I uninstall and reinstall. I manually update Norton 360 daily but can't do so now because it isn't working correctly.
If I need to go back to the 2012 version of Norton 360, is there someone at Norton that I can pay to do this? I'd prefer to not risk making any mistakes.
My Norton 360 is working fine on my other computer which has Vista
Download the appropriate version of your N360 Standard edition from www.norton.com/n360s_6 or Premier edition from www.norton.com/n360p_6 If you use Identity Safe, backup/export your data. Use the CSV format to ensure compatibility with the 2012 versions. Uninstall your Norton product with Windows control panel. Run the Norton Removal Tool. Reboot.
Run the N360 installer.
Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
If your Identity Safe works, you are done. If not, Import your Identity Safe data.
To avoid the download of the 2013 product again, look under Settings - Updates and turn off the option of Automatic Download of New Version.
