This discussion forum seems the only way to get through to Symantec that their software has a major fault. I am fed up with the process CCSVCHST blocking my computer for 30 minutes every time it is switched on. I do not want a complicated solution that I do not understand, I just want an update with the problem fixed. Unless I receive this soon, I will be cancelling my subscription, and I recommend anyone with the same problem to do the same. This is the only way to get through to the Symatec nerds that there a lot of dissatisfied customers with the same problem.

I have also found other posts from the past decade talking about this totally non-functional program. And the so-called solutions are NOT solutions. They are either specific difficult, labor-intensive work-arounds or so general 'reinstall the software and hope it goes away' pie-in-the-sky garbage. And even reinstalling this software is very difficultand painful.
So, they have a GUI program that eats computers and they have never bothered to fix it in a decade. What are they waiting for? They think they are the only game in town?
From my experience, I am not even sure what Norton does. Since I have had this product installed, I have had 3 (yes, 3!!) virus attacks that were so bad I had to reinstall the OS. And each and every one corrupted Norton so bad, I had to unistall it and reinstall it. So, every hacker knows how to destroy Norton. But I can't go into Task Manager and disable/terminate Norton, even though I am the Admin. This means that when Norton takes over my computer - as bad as any virus I have ever had - all I can do is pull the plug and reboot. Because when this failed program takes over your computer, YOU CAN NOT perform a normal shut down.
Are they ever going to fix this trash or just keep on ripping off our money??????
