A thank you

As the forum is setup for techincal problems it seems that the work that is put into a product and the forums may be forgotten a tad bit. It is why I wanted to mention that I appreciate these forums as they have been informative.

The reason for the post is that while replying I noticed that I can resize the window which is not only helpful but it is the first time I have seen this application used online.

I think it may be helpful for users to acknowledge those things that they like as well as dislike so that those things that are most helpful or appreciated can be kept and/or better implemented/updated.

Take care,

Mumford68

I've noticed that there are over a hundred views of this page thus far and would like to invite those that peruse this page to post what they like most about the forum. I think it is a great way to let those that work on making this possible know that there efforts are appreciated and can continue to develop in accordance with what users like :)

So post away.... as long as it is within the TOU ;)

I too appreciate the moderators of this forum for their extra-ordinary ability to deal the worst situation by showing extreme professionalism.

I also would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to all the Norton employees that have given input to this forum. All of you at Symantec have shown Professionalism and Patience to all members. This forum is not only a problem solver but also a teaching tool for computer security. KUDO’S to Norton for the Great Forum you have put together and also your security software. From the Newbie to the Men & Women in RED, Thank you for all your knowledgeable input on problem solving. I think everyone sees the TEAMWORK in this forum. Keep up the Good Work. :smileyvery-happy:

Yes -- no discrimination here among the Symantec employees!

Thanks huwy for seeing that. I got it corrected. Like I said TEAMWORK. :smileyvery-happy:

I feel a song coming on: "Here come the Men in Red;  Wooo-ooooh-Ooooh-ooooh!  Here come the Woman in Red!"  ...and so on.

“Is there a musician in the house?”

Can the forums have a voice/Voip section so we can hear Red sing??

Keeping on a positive note for this thread I would like to mention that one things I like about the forum is the updating of information related to each product such as new versions being released and other sticky’s that are made at the top of forums that are helpful or deemed as widely interesting to the forum visitors.

Within the last few days I have witnessed a lot of things going on this Norton Forum.  I would like to say that I have never in my lifetime seen any company run 100% perfect. Norton did what they had to do. I would like to give Kudos to all the People in Red on their Outstanding Professionalism they have shown. Keeping the posts on this forum for and against the company shows us that Norton has nothing to hide. Thank You Norton Employees for your outstanding work.:smileyhappy:

I would also like to say that these forums are brilliant. I have been to other forums whereby if anything is said against a particular product they get scrubbed out, here Norton welcomes constructive critisism, but most important, there is so much helpful info on here pertaining to their products. I have learned so much from these forums and the people on here, both employees of Symantec and ordinary members. I find I am now visiting the site every day now. You just couldn’t find out so much info from visiting their web site alone, well done to everyone on here and may the forums go on forever!

Thanks for the nice comments.

Not just the Forums but have you checked out the blogs?

There's some really helpful stuff down in the Norton Protection Blog here if you scan down the list of items.

Do read Chocolate-Covered PIFTS, X-Files & Mea Culpas to get an idea why we like and respect the Symantec Staffers here for their honesty and in this case for being able to give a realistic but light-hearted view life in the fast lane <s> No-one enjoyed that experience but bad things do happen to nice people!

Wow, thanks for all the kudos folks! I think I am saying what a lot of people must already have thought. You know, last week when we had the attack about the 'pifts' business, I really had a feeling of dread, started to think the forums might get shut down which would have been a disaster for me let alone for so many others, but again Norton dealt with it in such a professional way that I feel other companies would have pulled the plug. (They still let some of these threads continue on the 'pifts' subject)

Yes 'huwyngr', I have had a look before at some of the blogs and they are very interesting.

I would also like to mention, even though it is a small thing for convenience here in the forum's is the ability to move the spell checker.  Although I am probably the only one that it took a little while to realise that you can move that darn spell checker window to where you want it. For a little while everytime I would access it I would have to scroll up the screen to make any necessary changes and keep refering to it that way until the process was complete.

Also, I am especially fond of those that take a moment to upate a post with information on particular issues. There was one thread where a (developer?) Symantec employee posted that it was a known issue {allowing me to know that it is regarded as more than a small, low on the list issue} and that it was being worked on {indicating that there would be a patch or would be included in a future update} and thus stops me from wondering, even if there are no solutions posted or posts about it from Staffers for a while that I know not to worry about it as it is in good hands.  Since it is an active, known issue that is being worked on.

It saves me time from continually (and sometimes blindly) trying various things to resolve the issue, saves users from wondering if it is a well known issue and if there is anything being done about it.

Thank you much for these things!

When I started this thread I did not realise that the software had been (perhaps only in part) come from outside Symantec(?).  However I would still like to give props for the fact that when I take to long to write a post or get into other errors while posting that instead of the system (as in many editors around the net do) taking me to an error page and then having nothing but a blank page to work with whether I backup or click on continue.  Sometimes it can take some time to create a post, accidentaly backspace, accidentaly close a window, etc etc… and it has come in handy to be able to repost the message without having to start from scratch!
