About NMS and other questions

Hello community!

I am new here and hence I have a wall of questions for you what I would like to know about NMS and its anti-theft capabilities.
I bought NMS recently and it has been working like a charm, so no troubles from that direction.
I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to mobile technology and as you can see english is ot my native language so bear with me. :D

Anyway, I am just curious and slightly worried about the sms unlocking feature.
Now, I have added 3 buddies in my list, but I noticed that out of 3 buddies, one of my buddies number is in the international form (for example in Finland first 0 is replaced by +358) and other two has the local form.
So my question is, does NMS make distinction between these forms?

My first assumption is that if it does that  and I have stored my buddys number in local form and  she or he moves to other country, unlocking messages comes in international form and phone stays locked.
Also can this happen in vise versa? That is, number is stored in international form but for some reason my phone understands incoming sms in local form and again phone stays locked.

Next question is about the browsing security.
When i unlocked full features for NMS did it automatically attached itself to my stock browser so that i do not have to do any extra? How this can be seen?

And last question would be about the differences between the NSM web browsing security and Identity safe applet which i also downloaded. Seems that identity safe has its own browser built in. At the time i tested it, it was horribly slow compared to stock browser (and to other browsers i have installed).

Nevertheless, which browser you would suggest me to use for now and will there be some kind of a merge of Id safe to NMS as there kinda is with norton 360?

Thanks for reading! :D

Hi Simuelis.

You asked about the buddies phone number format, and smithy asked for other contributions.

I have done some experimentation and it would appear that the latest versions of Norton Mobile Security do not mind whether the buddy number is recorded in the international format or not.  I have not tried calling from abroad but if Norton would like to fund the trip I am prepared to try.  ;-)

I set up two buddies, one with the straight forward local dialing code and the other with the number recorded in the international format (+ followed by the code and with the normal leading zero dropped).  Both could lock and unlock my phone with no difficulty.

I hope that helps and puts your mind at rest.

If it is not clear or if you have any further questions please feel free to come back.

What about now? Does the NIS android app work with any other browsers yet?

Hi charbar2014 - Welcome to the Norton Community.

The Android Norton Mobile Security app now will provide safe browsing with the default Android browser along with the Chrome browser and also the Chrome Beta browser.

As they are the most popular Android browsers it only makes sense that the Norton safe browsing Web Protection feature protects you when using them.

I hope that information helps to answer your question.

Cheers :)

Sorry, I was actually referring to the Identity Safe app.

That is ok as I thought you'd meant Norton Internet Security app. :)

The NIDSafe app still only supports it's built in app which also provides the Norton Safe Web feature to help protect you when browsing or surfing the Internet.

And you can also use the copy and paste option in the NIDSafe app with saved login details ( passwords etc ) to help with signing in with other apps on the device.

Cheers :)

TY:)

No worries I am glad I could help.

Cheers.
