Hi,
Recently purchased a Netbook PC and loaded Norton 360 v4 onto it, and have since discovered my PC activation code (v3) won't work. (Obvious now).
If I purchase a multi install activation key, can I use it across the netbook install, and the 'maybe' to be upgraded install on my PC?
Thanks
Simon
I have 360 on both machines - a trial version of 4 on the netbook, and a paid for verison 3 on the PC.
Cheers
Hi Simon,
Have you got the netbook version of Norton 360 loaded on your netbook? The product keys for the regular version and netbook version of Norton 360 are most unfortunately not interchangeable.
If you are trying to activate the regular version of Norton 360 on your netbook as well, then it is possible that you do not have the necessary number of licences/activations to cover your computers. To check how many PCs your licence covers, please log into your Norton account:

Also, it is strongly recommended that you upgrade from Norton 360 version 3 to version 4 - you can do so for free via the Norton Update Center:
http://updatecenter.norton.com/
You can also contact Symantec Customer Service and chat with them for free at this link (for US and Canada) - they usually solve subscription and activation issues very quickly:

OK - wil upgrade for free; but can't hide how dissapointed I am with this inflexibiity.
Time to shop around for a new product for the Netbook, and when the PC expires.
Thanks for clarifying.
Simon
You're welcome.
Yes, the inflexibility of product keys is disappointing in this case. However, there have been suggestions to raise this barrier, and you can add your vote/comment over here:

Simon,
Most people these days, with current larger screen netbooks, are finding the standard version perfectly satisfactory and if you really want to you can fine tune some of the settings although not su much in N360 as in NIS.
Note also that your V3 KEY will activate V4 with no problems if it is for more than one PC and has unexpired subscription time on it. There must be another reason why yours failed to work.
If you'd like some help in sorting all this out just say so -- we re here to help.
Since you are using N360 and posted in the NIS/NAV Forum, I'll ask for your message to be moved over there for better exposure. You won't lose sight of it because a link will be left here.
