I've had NSM installed on 2 computers for the last month and all activity logs, search history, etc has been working perfectly. Then suddenly two days ago, all logs stopped, even though both computers were still being used and no changes were made. Child doesn't know the password or have administrator rights. One of the computers in question is mine and I know that no changes have been made.
To troubleshoot, I've done the following:
1. Reinstalled NSM on both computers
2. Deleted the old "child" profile and added a new one, associating both computers and users.
It appears that blocking is still happening on the computers, but I feel like I'm flying blind because I can't see activity logs anymore. Please help!
Also, on one of the computers (mine), I get an email about 3 minutes after being online that "The NSM browser plug-in has been disabled." This has been occurring since I first started using NSM and it's super annoying but I haven't been able to find any fixes on the forum. I know for a fact that I am not disabling the plug-in myself.
I am getting really upset now. Blocking of sites is now very intermittent. I have been able to access pornography and adult sites, which means my kids can too. Please resolve these issues quickly!

I just checked and still am not seeing any activity logs. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know.
Regarding the blocked sites, I have never had a problem with the blocking before and usually test it daily. Today is the first day that it let me through multiple times. If I put the sites on the "blocked sites" list it seems to block them intermittently. I hope there is a solution since adding sites to that list isn't really a practical long-term solution.
Thank you very much for the update. The NOF team started to investigate the issue further immediately and corrected the issue. Please check again and it should work this time.
Sure, I agree with you that adding the websites to the black list is not the solution. The reason I mentioned that was trying to know if the categories of the websites were blocked or not (as sometimes websites are not rated as they should). Please check again about the blocking issue after the correction.
I really appreciate your and your team's prompt attention to these issues. I started receiving activity logs again yesterday evening...yay! Thank you!!!
An update on the site blocking: I was still able to access some pornography sites last night (they are the ones that I test with every day and have never been able to view them before, so I think they are rated correctly). When I add them to the site-blocking list they do get blocked.
Please send me one or two URLs of the websites. Since they are pornography, please sent them to me by private message. You can access private message by clicking in the upper right hand corner of any community page
Hey, I'm havin the same problem since the 18th, I have had online family installed on a couple computers for some time now, and since the 18th of april it suddenly stopped working. It worked on the 19th again, and then it stopped working again today I have kids that use these computers.
It looks like they do and don't I have tried to go back to pages that were previously blocked sometimes they work and sometimes they do actually get blocked. The same page, the logs aren't being recorded either.
There is windows xp 64 bit, and there is norton 5.2.1.3 The windows is windows 8 I believe, I'll have to check when I get home from work. I still see it not being logged properly. Before when It wasn't showing the activity log but I was still getting emails with some websites being blocked, now they could have been pop-ups (I think they were ad pop ups from hook up websites from the links that were being shown) However; It was still blocking them and sending me the email but it was not updating in the activity log or the block list.
Is there something I can do to help aid you in fixing it? Is there an update I need to manually run? Doesn't norton auto update
***edit
When I get to the computer I will remove and reinstall the safety minder
I have a similar issue. No notifications but I also strongly suspect that the sites are not being blocked. We are running Windows 7 and alternate among chrome, IE and Firefox.
An update: I marked this issue as "solved" since my original issue of not receiving activity logs was solved.
HOWEVER
I am still able to access sites that should be blocked, including pornography and adult chat. I am still very concerned about this and hope the issue can be resolved soon! (KatieQ, I sent you a PM as you requested with some of the sites that are able to be accessed).
I tested each of the websites you sent me by private message and all were blocked except the one website starting with chat.... which is rated as "Online Chat". If you don't have category "Online Chat" blocked or the webiste is not on the black list, it wouldn't get blocked. If you don’t agree how a website is categorized, please dispute it.
As for rest of other websites, I had no luck to reproduce the issue so far. Please check the browser(s) that your child uses to see if the Norton Safety Minder add-ons is enabled. You can find it by clicking Tools -> Manage Add-ons in IE or Tools -> Add-ons in Firefox.
Please make sure you have the latest Norton Safety Minder 2.3.0.18 on the PC. Click on the Norton Safety Minder icon in the system tray and select “About Norton Safety Minder”. You should find the version number.
Also, please check the browser(s) that your child uses to see if the Norton Safety Minder add-ons is enabled. You can find it by clicking Tools -> Manage Add-ons in IE or Tools -> Add-ons in Firefox.
Hey, I did get this log thing to work on my other computer but I am having difficulties with another issue with NOF. I will find the appropriate topic and post there.
Thanks.
(I had to uninstall and reinstall it to get it working)
