Add Desktop Shortcut Windows 8

Hi where do I go so I could create a desktop shortcut for NIS 2013? I tried looking through program folders but couldn't find anything. I'd rather use a desktop shortcut not the systray icon.

Nevermind got it :)

Topic can be locked/deleted.

If you tell us how it could help others with Windows 8 not using the Gadgets ......

Go to the Start panel

Your Norton product should be listed in the recent program/apps on the right side

Right click the Norton product's tile

At the bottom of the screen click on "Open File Location"

This will open the shortcut where it is stored and bring you to your desktop

Next left click and drag the Norton product shortcut to your desktop

Done!

You can also find it here C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Norton Internet Security

-------

Yeah I just got tired of right clicking the systray icon and click Open Norton Internet Security. So I was determined to find a way to create a desktop shortcut. Since like you said the Sidebar from Windows Vista and 7 is gone.

left-clicking the systray icon open Norton Internet Security

Thanks Prior ..

As Prior says you can just single left click on the Norton System Tray icon.

You can also lright mouse click on a file and select Send to Desktop which creates a shortcut on the desktop (whereas Create Shortcut creates it in the same folder as the file you are accessing.
