Adding a parent to monitor an existing group of child accounts

So we have been using Norton Family for some time, and have just added another child device for our youngest. Up until now I have been managing the system myself, but I wanted to add my wife to the same group now that she has a new phone. I followed the instructions, “inviting” her to join the group using her email address, created a new account in her own name, and installed the app on her phone. That is where the problems start, as the app insists that she create a completely new child profile and will not let her proceed without it. We do not want to do this, we simply want her phone to montior existing child profiles that have been working for over two years. How do we get past this issue?

Hi @SK_Hemsley

Welcome to Norton Family Forum.

The issue occurs because the invited parent account was not set up using the invitation link sent to the email address. When the app is installed without accepting the invite first, Norton Family treats the account as a new primary account and forces creation of a new child profile.

To resolve this, please follow these steps:

  • Kindly delete the newly created account using this link
  • Open the invite sent to the email and complete the setup using that link. Refer this link for more details.
  • After accepting the invite, install the Norton Family app and sign in.

Thanks,
