Adding second device (Win-11) needs access to web (email) while still unprotected

Installing Norton on new PC (win-11) requires email access, but web is unprotected. Isn’t this dangerous?

Detailed description: Installation instructions say you’ll send a download link, which I must email to new PC. Meanwhile, new PC is sitting online, unprotected. Should I worry about this?
