I had a licensed version of Norton 2011 on my computer with approximately 135 days left on it. When 2012 was released, I upgraded and everything rolled over. Then, I received an e-mail from Symantec stating that I could renew for 40% off as a "thank you" for participating in the Beta program. So, I did, but when I put the new key in it did not add a year to my exising 135 days. It just went to 365 days remaining.
Perhaps I didn't think this through? I didn't want to purchase another product; just wanted to extend my subscription.
