Adobe Updater Won't Connect

I upgraded my Norton Internet Sec 2010 to the 2011 version. Now Adobe Reader updater won't connect. I get error 1400. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks. I tried this, but no results. Maybe I didn't do this right. I'm a novice. Maybe you can tell me specifically what section in Settings to go to? I saw a listing for Adobe, but I didn't specifically see Adobe Updater.

How did you upgrade? On top off?

I know it can be done but it can also give bugs. maybe you could uninstall Norton --> reinstall v2011

This will probably solve the issue

Hi Rayban,

This error can sometimes be resolved by rebooting the machine.  Have you restarted the computer since the system error first appeared?

For whatever reason, possibly because Adobe Reader has been so heavily targeted, it appears as though the update mechanism is changed.  I get the same error from attempting to update from Help>check for updates.  If I go directly to the website, there is no difficulty.  9.4 is the latest version.

Hello

I just tried it and it said to try later again, so perhaps they are just fixing it or having server problems as Symantec has occasionally.

I don't know if the OP needs the Adobe Reader for work or something like that, however I would be inclined to get rid of it and install one of the more secure alternatives.

Hello

I have just read that there will be a new Adobe Reader 10 coming out within the next 30 days. Perhaps this updater problem has something to do with that also. I like to go directly to the site any way to update programs like that.

FWIW, the in program updater is working again, for me anyway. Previously I was receiving the same "Error 1400" as the OP. Whatever the issue was it seems to be corrected now.

Thanks, you were correct. I should have realized that the server might be having a problem.
