Issue abstract: Norton claims to hace found non-essential files and application, but just wants you subsribe to an additiponal feature
Detailed description:
on my Norton home screen, the bottom part says a “performance scan” has found over 100k unnecessary files and apps that are “slowing down the computer”. When I click this, I am taken to a screen where I can subsribe to Norton Utilities ultimate. So, this is nothing more than an ad, diguising itself as an issue. This is not how any company should go about advertising their services
Mine is showing 57,260 performance issues found, 880 broken registry keys, 4.8GB of clutter !!!
Microsoft Disk Cleanup shows 590MB, including system files, so I’d like to know where they found 4,8GB.
This is like scare tactics to sell additional features.

The only scope indication in the page is “Applicable for: Windows”, and also that problem (" Ads disguised as issues]") has started with latest version.
More, the string “22” doesn’t even appears in the page text.
How can you be so sure ?
Another user has replied in this thread few weeks ago “you can disable it if you dont want to see it in Norton 360” but didn’t explained how, And, assuming you’re better informed, what is the procedure in the current version ?
There are no “Administrative” settings in versions 24.xx or 25.xx . As Guru bjm stated, we all hope that is reintroduced and soon in the current releases. Indeed, issues where scans are recommended for issues are are falsely created are not going to disappear anytime soon, if ever. That is the #1 deal breaker for current Norton customers. Driver Updater and Software Updater are the most common sell-ups and will absolutely destroy your computers if used. Reverting to version 22 is the best solution while Norton decides on whether marketing or customers matter. They are going to have to choose one or the other. The latter will more likely than not prevail.
Maybe this setting will help. From the main 360 screen in versions 24.x.x or 25.x.x., click on Settings then the Notifications tab and scroll down to Mute special offers. Be sure that is turned on and test.
