Many adults are trying to overcome online addictions and compulsive behavior. Having a app, like the Parental Control, but called differently, could assist adults too. At the moment, I am “parenting” an adult trying to overcome a gambling and pornography addiction. Although the Parental Control app works, being called a child and a parent is not ideal. We searched far and wide for a good filtering, but some have constant notifications, pages for “meditation”, accountability this, work for that, some don’t work, etc. The Norton family does work for this purpose, although the name and some features, like school time, and child related stuff, could be changed to accommodate an adult. Call the parent a buddy, friend, supervisor, etc. Some adults would benefit from the filtering, blocking websites and apps, putting time limits, etc. Although adults, good intentions have limitations when dealing with compulsive behaviour and addictions. Or even just trying to cut back on mobile phone use, distraction. There is a gap on the market for it.
