We are excited to announce that advanced VPN features have been implemented into the Norton 360 app for all eligible customers. This update brings key capabilities from the Norton VPN experience into Norton 360, enhancing the VPN feature set.
Eligible users: These advanced VPN features apply to all users who have the Norton 360 subscription with the VPN feature included in their plan.
Features being introduced: The following “advanced VPN features” are implemented into Norton 360.
- VPN Protocol Selector – Users are now able to switch between multiple VPN Protocols within the Norton 360 app. The following are the different VPN protocols.
- IPSec: Secure network protocol suite used to secure connections between devices
- WireGuard: A secure and speedy open-source protocol
- Mimic: A fast and secure protocol made by our experts to bypass VPN restrictions
- OpenVPN (UDP): Prioritizes speed compared to TCP, making it ideal for gaming, streaming, VoIP, and other real-time apps where minor data loss is acceptable.
- OpenVPN (TCP): Prioritizes reliability compared to UDP, making it ideal for browsing, email, and file transfer, where accuracy matters most.
- Please NOTE: The VPN Protocol availability varies across all platforms.
- Pause VPN – Allows you to pause your VPN connection for as long as you need and resume automatically.
- Manual IP Refresh – Allows you to refresh the IP while staying connected to the VPN.
- More VPN regions – Same location list as Norton VPN, including 40 additional locations.
- Advanced servers such as “P2P-Optimized Region”, “Double VPN,” and “IP Rotation” are available.
- Advanced location selector.
- City-Level Region Selector – Allows you to connect to specific cities of some major countries.
- Recent Locations – A list of recently connected VPN regions.
- VPN Browser extension with Ad Blocker for Windows and Mac – A dedicated VPN extension that helps to operate the VPN functionality within the browser.
- VPN Mobile Widget for Android and iOS – enables you to control VPN from the home screen without opening the app. You can conveniently connect, disconnect, or pause your VPN connection with a single tap on the widget.
- Post Quantum Encryption – It is designed to help protect encrypted data against future quantum-computing threats, including scenarios in which attackers collect encrypted traffic today in the hope of decrypting it later.
- Enhanced Auto Connect options – Let’s you automatically turn on your VPN whenever you connect to a public network, compromised or unsecured network, so your data stays safer and more private.
- Smart TV Support – users with the Norton 360 subscription (which supports multiple devices) can install the Norton VPN app on their Smart TVs.
