Adware pop ups with Norton 360

Well the pop-ups still come and this problem started when my son wanted this file but once you open the file the N360 recorded the file as Trojan so we disabled the auto-portect and then he got the file and printed it after the we then enabled auto-portect thinking it will find the file.

it did but after 2 days some pop-up started coming up and the really problem came and still is there.

oh and i tried to find the file on our computer but it wasnt there and when i went to download the file where my son got it from that e-mail was not there for some reason(weird).

oh and that was the last time i checked any of my e-mail because it started saying that “Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Web Page.”

Hi shubby

So you disabled auto-protect even though you saw that Norton 360 was informing you that the file you were trying tp open/print was infected with a Trojan. Can you look into the History in Norton 360 to see if you can find the Trojan name and also the name of the file(s) infected. You should also check Quarantine to see what is in there.

Hi shubby

It may help if you run a HijackThis log for us to check

Please download HiJackThis from http://majorgeeks.com/Trend_Micro_HijackThis_d5554.html. Choose the executable (.exe) and save it on your desktop. Run the file and select the first option on the main menu "Do a system scan and save a log file". When this is finished, Notepad will open with the log file in it. Save the log file and attach it to a post here via the Add Attachments under the orange Post button

Hi shubby.

As a precautionary measure could you please ensure that all of your important data is backed up to some external device/location. Could you also check to ensure that you have all of your installation media and product/activation keys - Windows OS and whatever applications you have installed.

Thanks
