After the update, at the end of the Start procedure a window appeared asking if I wanted Windows Security. As I have Norton, I clicked on N. Is this why Google search results no longer carry the customary Norton approved label?

Which browser are you using? There have been some issues with the latest update and the FireFox browser Norton Toolbar extension.
