After last live update Norton Security crashes when trying to open it

Today I manually activated Live Update.  After the update I was asked to restart the PC.

Then, every time I try to open NS, I get the following error msg:

Norton Security has stopped working

So I must close NS. The NS icon disappears, and then reappears again on the tray – i.e. NS was activated again. (btw, if the PC is not connected to the internet NS is not being activated again).

So NS can't be opened to activate designated scans etc., but it's possible to right click the NS icon in the tray and activate some options like short scans and Live Update.
