After Monday night's update I can no longer open a sandboxed Firefox

Dear Forum Members

I have always used a sandboxed Firefox to surf the Internet, as I have found this to be my safest option, but as of Tuesday morning (20th October) I found that my Firefox browser would no longer open onto my desktop when actioned by Sandboxie. Although Firefox will open normally and all my other browsers, i.e. Opera, Chrome and IE, are still opening when actioned by Sandboxie as well as normally via their desktop icons.

I understand that a past Norton AV update had crippled Firefox before but Norton's tech people at that time came up with a solution, see attached file, but unfortunately this solution has not worked for me, I still cannot open Firefox via Sandboxie.

Now you may wonder why am I so sure it's a Norton update problem, well I have posted my problem in the Sandboxie's forum and a number of other Sandboxie users also have the same problem which started the same time my problem started, i.e. Tuesday morning.  And the only thing we all have in common is the fact that we either use Norton AV or Norton Internet Security, more than a coincidence I would say.

You also could say I could uninstall NIS and things could go back to some semblance of normality but that would leave my computer vulnerable to Internet borne attacks.

What I am asking for is that the Monday night update is either deleted or overwritten so that I can go back to opening Firefox via Sandboxie and return to surfing the web in relative safety.

BTW, my main surfing software is as follows:

Firefox 41.0.2, Sandboxie 5.04, NIS 22.5.4.24 and WinXP SP3.

Any suggestions and possible solutions will be gratefully received.
