I installed Norton Utilities 14.0 today (it was purchased in a combo-pack with Norton Internet Security 2011).
After installing it ran a clean, which ran ok.
A little later it ran another, which the progress bar showed as finished, but it wouldn’t end, so I clicked on stop, which it also didn’t do. So I tried to force it to end with task manager, but it wouldn’t work, so I did a restart on my PC.
After restarting, a different program which I have had on my PC for years tried to do a re-install, which I cancelled because it wanted the CD. It started again a number of times.
Now, every time I click on the icon for that program, it tries to re-install instead of running. I checked the Program directory, and the program is still in it’s directory --- I had worried that the clean had removed it.
It stopped happening, but don’t know what will occur the next time I start up my PC --- would like to be able to run that program, since some files created by it are in a proprietary format.
