Still running Norton 2005. Tried to upgrade to 2009 in '09. Installation killed all comm on my Thinkpad, XPPro, sp3. Had to restore from backup image after two days of service calls w/ Norton, all to no avail. Fool me once, shame on you. Was up until 2am last night, first with the Norton 2011 upgrade, which killed all network communication on my (same) PC again. Then tests and finally removal, with Norton Tech phone support’s instruction. The restore (Acronis, thank you) is running at home, as I type here at work. I know enough to always take a full image backup before installing ANY Norton product. Yet, fool me twice, shame on me. So if everything is OK when I get home tonight, I will be asking for my $49.95 to be refunded, and I will be wandering on, to Webroot, or Kaspersky, or AVG, maybe even back to McAfee, who I left years ago. But I’m done with Norton. Which is a shame. Peter used to live right up the street here. Always did nice work, that guy.
