Alert: suspicious amount of outbound traffic

I'm asked to run Power Eraser which finds nothing.  This has happened twice.  What is a suspicious amount of outbound traffic?  How do I determine what this traffic is?

thx

Anthony Qian:

This might indicate your PC has been infected but Norton failed to remove the threat.

My suggestion is to do a full system scan using Norton with up-to-date database or another AV products.

More likely that it looks like you may have picked up a PUP, a Possibly Unwanted Program. While they are annoying, they do not cause damage to your system. Some people actually want the 'Features' offered by these programs. They are usually downloaded alongside a legitimate download when you do not uncheck the option for the additional download.

Norton products concentrate on malware that can damage your system, that is why some PUPs are not detected.

I would suggest a second opinion scan using the FREE version of Malwarebytes. You can find it here https://www.malwarebytes.com/premium/

Hello George. Open your Norton history, find one of the events you are posting about. Highlight it then go to the lower right corner of the box and click "more options". Gather a screenshot for us to review for you. Post it here, here is how to post a screenshot into your posts. https://community.norton.com/en/forums/how-post-image-forums-0

Can you see and get the IP address of the outbound connection? I use TCPView from Microsoft to check my network from time to time just to be on the up and up with things.
