I have added a website to the allowed list for one of my 4 children.
I have cliked the update settings button on the website tab for her under settings. The screen refreshes and the new site is added to the list but it removes the "www." from the front.
I go to the computer under her account and clikc update hous rules. I get a message that the house rules have been updated.
When I go to the site, I get a blocking screen that says the site is "uncategoried" and has been blocked.
I choose to send a message asking for access.
When I go to that message in the activity tab for her, I click update settings to allow the blocked site.
I then go to her settings tab and see that the site that has been added to the allowed list is actually the IP address of the site and not the name of the site that I had originally added. Does this mean that I need to add every single server address that they (webkinz.com) is using? That does not sound reasonable to me but it seems the only way I can get her access unless I find a way to have you categorize their site someday.
Nothing that I am aware of. It is an older netgear router with the base configuration. I did a whois lookup and the addresses being returned and they are actually the IP addresses owned by my ISP, not ganz.com (I did a lookup on webkinz.com to see the owner).
Interesting, so perhaps your ISP is doing some type of caching that webkinz is actually returning an IP address instead of the actual webkinz address. Because of that we are not able to categorize that IP address. If you uncheck "uncategorized" does it work properly?
