The Metered Bandwidth option in NIS and NAV 2012 (soon to be N360 v6) is a great value add, particularly for those who have to pay extra when they exceed a certain download allotment with their ISP. Also for those who have slow dial-up Internet connections.
I would suggest the following addition to this great feature.
Most users I have heard from in my extended time helping out on the forum are concerned about Norton's Internet usage only during certain hours of the day and during any other time (off hours so to speak) they want Norton to download ALL updates without restriction.
So I'm thinking it would be really great if the Metered Bandwidth could be configured based on time of day.
An example:
Set Metered Bandwidth to Critical Updates only between the hours of 6AM to 8PM. Allow unlimited internet at any other time.
Ideally there should be the ability to configure different hours for each day of the week but at an absolute minimum allow a time to be configured which is the same for each day.
To ALL, particularly those who are directly affected by this please chime in with your thoughts. And in particular what do you think about the part highlighted in blue above?
