@TripodMonkey What virus indication messages are you seeing and from whom? Are they McAfee alerts within the browser? Does/has Norton detected a virus and has quarantined it? Do you have a screenshot to share for review? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply; I found the fix within the McAfee ad. I am still bewildered as to why a company would put a revolving popup within an ad, making it as bad as a virus. Is not this what they claim to stop?
So as I understand your post, you clicked the pop-up and it offered a solution? A solution that NORTON didn’t detect? This was most likely a click-bait scam FWIW!! I hope that wasn’t the case here.
Edited: A screenshot of the popup would have been great to review before you “potentially” made the mistake of disclosing personal information to a unknown 3rd party.

Interestingly, Norton did not detect it at all. I would venture a guess, it’s still in my system somewhere; at least I’m rid of the notifications popping up.
These popups are usually malformed ads that may be redirecting your browser. Norton does not block redirects and in fact they use redirects on their own web pages.
Here is a McAfee article on these popups and how to deal with them.
