after being upgraded to the 16.5 version of my nis 2009, I've noticed that I haven't received any antiphishing updates since the upgrade was installed a week ago. Am i being protected since it is not doing updates on my vista 64 bit system. Everything else seems to be doing fine with norton showing check marks on my tool bar and task bar. I know there is a problem that norton is looking into with the 64 bit issue but I don't know if i am at risk until they get it fixed. thanks to all.
NIS2010 is very good. You can also upgrade to 2011 for free. Nothing is 100% all of the time, so most of us run a secondary, on demand scanner to cross-check. Do not use any other real-time scanners as they may conflict with Norton.

Hi heavengod,
Welcome to the Norton Community. If you want suggestions for good on-demand scanners which will not conflict with NIS, Malware Bytes and Super Antispyware are both good choices.
Please make sure for either one that you get the free edition only.
As Delphinium mentioned NIS 2011 is available through the Update Center and I would recommend upgrading to that.
Best wishes.

thanx a lot
sorry man i cannot upgrade it because it need high system requirement..i have 384 MB ram only :(
Umm… The minimum for Norton products had always been 256 mb but most (xp) computers have at least 512 mb or more. In fact it is recommended to have at least 512 for xp but the recommended ram for xp is 1 gig. I have a 4 gig win7 pc and a 2gig xp machine. Why couldn’t you simply add more ram. It would definately be helpful in The long run.
actually i have DDR ram..it is banned..it is DDR2 generation
